Americans torture themselves with numbers. Childhood ends when SAT scores begin. They are plagued with measuring their debts, their weight, their cock size, their height, their reach, their track times, their step counters, their likes, their followers, their neighbours’ property taxes, their retirement accounts, their credit score, their Amex points…
Then they count their children’s SAT scores and it starts again.
Then they die.
But they WIN!
That they do. It is why I moved here.
Americans spend so much time counting, they will pay anything to anyone who is feeling.
Here are some thought experiments:
Count less
What would it be like not to count anything?
Time less
Imagine waking up when your body does instead of when your boss does
Face less
Try living in a home without mirrors
Weight less
The only pressure that matters is under your feet
Wait less
Try driving at night to enjoy the empty roads
Thought less
You cannot know what someone else thought about you
Law less
Have you ever been arrested, imprisoned or sued? Or do you just fear it?
Pain less
If you could reform your damaged body instantly, would you do it?
Effort less
You push rocks up a mountain when you could just tap one down
Life less
You quickly forget the dead but you want to build a legacy—why?
