Revisiting Childhood Dreams 🛌 ✨
If you must go back into your past, why do you start with the nightmares?
A lot of people I come across keep encouraging me to do shadow work or revisit my childhood trauma.
While I understand why some people find this useful, I do wonder if that is the best place to locate your mind if you must cast it back to the past.
The vast majority of people who recommend this work have not:
Suffered sexual abuse
Been hungry for weeks
Dealt with extreme violence
Those are my tests for truly nightmare childhoods.
The people I know who have suffered this way usually find solace in martial arts or ultra-marathons.
Where did your parents take you that was magical?
I am currently on a tour of the places in the UK that I experienced magic as a child. These include the campsites in Cornwall, the rolling hills of The Lake District, and the windiest beaches I could find.
These are where I had dreamy experiences as a child. Where I was lost in the magic of the moment. Times on the ocean with my father & walking the coast with my mother. Going back to them physically has mentally located me in a state of childlike wonder.
