You wallet can unlock digital and physical spaces with tokens acting as the key. These digital objects are starting to give us access to places we cannot otherwise reach. Token gating is just starting

Yesterday I launched a little experiment called Bay Area Excitement ($BAE). We raised 3.3 ETH (~$10,500) to put on a set of parties around the Bay Area:

47 people committed funds to the project. We have distributed thousands of $BAE tokens to them. They will be able to distribute those tokens to their friends. We also had different tiers for different kinds of access levels:

Who controls the funds & how will they be used?

These funds will be controlled by the artists who run the events. The token now acts as a gate to access the party. The $BAE crew will put on token-gated events using the ERC20 token generated by the crowdfunding. You can check out the campaign here:

I also started trying out different tools for token-gating online discussions. These will allow the $BAE community to communicate. There are lots of ways to go about this and it was so fun to see the different approaches.
